I just uploaded the updated manuscript to the publisher! YEAH!! I am oh so close to final publish now! You see, the problem is that once I submit for publishing, my novel is officially a FIRST EDITION. Any changes whatsoever after that makes the novel a second edition, and so on.
I can’t help but be overly cautious, making sure that the First Edition is as clean as possible before releasing it to the world. I did find a few typos and this edit I concentrated on content and flow.
As I did my second read, there are still two places in the novel that send tears to my eyes. Yes, I cried reading my own stuff! And I wrote it! The one passage that I’m referring to – well, let’s just say that I bawled my eyes out when I first typed it. I hope that you as the reader are moved emotionally as well.
Until then, we all must wait. It will take 24 to 48 hours for the publisher to verify my latest manuscript upload before they approve it for printing. Then I have no choice but to order an other proof, but the good news is that immediately after I press that “order proof” button, I can submit for final publish and order copies. It will probably take almost 2 weeks for me to receive the first shipment.
